There’s a time and a place for stereotypes… it’s at the campground! We all know someone who is each of these types of camper. The real challenge, is if we can identify ourselves and what camping type we are.
“MR/Mrs Outdoors”
This type of camper can be spotted a mile away. They are the ones who is the most aggressive towards setting up camp. They’re almost always the one to build and light the fire, often without anyone else knowing until the blaze seems to instantly be 4 ft high. Be ready for them to try to get you up for a “quick 8 mile hike” in the morning for sunrise.
“The Glamper”
This individual would like to be out in nature, as long as they have all the comforts of home. They need long hot showers, 5 course meals, and enough decorations inspired by pinterest to make your head spin. Make sure you’ve claimed your electrical outlet in the RV, “Glampers” are known to use up every available outlet for all their tech gear.
“The Traveler”
The wanderlust never dies with “The Traveler”. Just when everyone else in the campground is getting comfortable in their new settings the traveler is getting ready to take off on their new location. Typically they are seemingly in a race with themselves to go and see every scenic area in the region. If you plan on being at one location for more than a week, figure out some way to keep the traveler at bay.
“The Yamper”
Also known as the “Yard Camper.” Usually this is a city camper but can come about in a variety of ways. It often happens by wanting to visit friends and family but not wanting to either inconvenient the hosts or to inconvenience themselves with not having a nearby place to stay.
Now that you’re familiar with the basic types of campers, what type are you?
