The Golden Rule of RVing is the same Golden Rule of Life. Do unto fellow campers as you’d like them to do to you. As long as you take a moment to think about the other person’s viewpoint you can become the Ultimate RV Neighbor!
General
- Follow the rules and guidelines of the campground.
- Someone campsite is their home for that time period. Don’t walk through their site.
- Keep quiet hours quiet.
- Make sure you clean up after yourself at the site and campground in general.
- Drive slow as there may be children playing.
- Drive slowly through the campground. Follow any posted speed limits and watch for children.
- If you pull into the campground late at night try not to shine your lights directly into someone’s rig as you’re parking.
- Check in and Check out promptly.
- Never feed the animals.
Hygiene
- NEVER dump outside of a dumping station.
- Use the proper RV friendly chemicals.
- Always clean up after yourself as animals WILL come curiously to inspect all things that are left out.
Pets
- Pets should always be cleaned up after immediately.
- An unattended dog is a BAD OWNER. The dogs can be tempted to bark and dig.
- Always keep your dog on a leash 6ft unless otherwise noted.
- Call the campground to verify they allow animals.
Campfires
- There may be restrictions on fires in the area or time of year. Check with the campground.
- Firepits may be available. If not most will allow portable fire pits. Call ahead to verify.
- Check the local ordinance on wood. Many areas only allow wood if purchased in that local area.
- And of course never leave your fire unattended.
