RV Tips: RVing with Your Dog

Are you part of the 53% of RVers who RV with your Dog? Our pets are our family, friends and companions. They’re also entertaining. Which makes sense why it’s such a joy to bring them on your RV Adventures. Before you head out with your leash in hand, here’s a few things to consider…

  •  Pet Places

Call ahead of time to make sure that you won’t be surprised by finding out after driving to the campground. There are many websites that have aggregated the local places that are pet friendly. Keep in mind some will have additional fees so look into that as well.  Most pet friendly RV Parks will have dog areas.

  • Medication

When you’re pets travel they will be exposed to bugs, ticks, fleas, and potentially things they’ve never encountered. Make sure that they are up to date on all of their meds before you head out. Fleas are much easier to get rid of before they have started infesting.

  • Pack for them

Wouldn’t it be nice if dogs could pack for themselves… Unfortunately they can’t so make sure you bring enough food, water, bowls, leashes, dog bags, toys bed and treats.

  • Leave No Trace

Just like on the hiking trail, pack it in and pack it out. There is no excuse for not picking up after your dog so that someone can step in it. Be responsible, carry bags and clean up after your pet.
