It’s that time of year where everyone’s mind is turning to New Year’s resolutions and plans for 2022. We want to encourage you to do the same for your travel plans. Here are a few New Year’s resolutions that we feel every RVer should set for the new year.
1. Find a new destination
Even if you travel a lot it can be easy to fall into a pattern of going to the same places. You may have certain RV resorts on the Central Coast that you love to visit or favorite California National Parks that you like to explore, but the country is full of new places to go.
Make 2022 the year that you intentionally find new places to explore in your RV. Stay at new campgrounds. Find new cities for urban camping. Do a little research to find unique places 2 stop an explorer.
Keep a travel journal throughout the year. This will allow you to document the places and activities that you enjoyed the most. You can also keep track of the places that aren’t going to be on your list to revisit. Not only will this provide a fun way for you to look back on your trips for the year, it can also help you learn more about other places you may want to go in the future as well.
2. Connect with the RV community
We’ve had almost two full years of social interactions looking different than they were in the past. If you are ready to connect with people and get your social game on, the RV community is full of great people to connect with. If you’re staying at an RV Resort or campground, make small talk and connect with the neighbors around you.
You already know that you share travel and RVing in common, have a conversation to see what other things you share opinions on. Not only can this make your campground stay more enjoyable, but it can also help you learn more about places in the area that you should check out during your stay. RVers love to share destinations and activities that are off the beaten path with other RVers.
3. Put your touches on your RV
RV manufacturers have come a long way in producing RVs that give you the look and feel of a home, like the 2022 Keystone Montana 3781RL that features a double sink in the bathroom and island in the kitchen. They are full of amenities to help make your time on the road comfortable and convenient. But even with the modern interior decor options, you may feel like your RV is missing some of your personality.
2022 can be the year that you look for creative ways to put your own personal touch on your RV. This could be doing renovations if your RV is older or looking for ways to change the decorations. You may want to put up curtains or artwork that express your personality or find creative solutions for storage issues.
If you have a used RV that is feeling outdated, you may want to take steps to do some renovations. This will allow you to update the look and feel of your RV.
4. Give your RV some TLC
If you’ve had a busy year on the road or have been neglecting the regular maintenance your RV needs, make it your goal to take care of it in 2022. You can learn more about the annual, seasonal, and before trip maintenance that should be done in our blog post A Complete Guide To Getting Your RV Serviced.
The last thing you want is to keep putting this off until you end up with a big, costly repair. Preventative maintenance is an important part to keeping your RV running it’s best and your family safe while on the road.
5. Go off the beaten path
There are more RVs than ever that are designed for helping you get off the beaten path. If you’re used to staying in RV resorts with all the amenities, step out of your comfort zone this year to do a little boondocking. This allows you to enjoy peace and quiet, stunning scenery, and nature at its finest.
If you’re looking for an RV that lets you or you and your partner do more boondocking and get off the beaten path, preorder a 2022 Winnebago Era. They are designed with off road capabilities.
