You have an RV. You enjoy the experience, but something just isn’t quite the same anymore. When RVing feels like it’s lost a little of its fun and excitement, it’s likely your current RV isn’t meeting the needs and desires you have for your trips. There are a lot of signs that can point to the need for a new RV in your life. Here are a few of them to consider:
1. You are running out of room
A clear sign that it’s time to upgrade your RV is when you are running out of room. It may be that you’ve added to your family, have a lot of guests, or your kids have gotten older and want their own space. Whatever the reason, if you are starting to feel cramped in your current rig, it’s time to think about upgrading to something larger.
2. You have too much room
Many people are used to #1 above as a reason to buy a new RV, but don’t often think of the opposite being true as well. But having more room than you need can be a great reason to downsize into a new RV.
If your kids have grown and flown the coop or you realize that you simply don’t need as much space as you thought in your RV, downsizing can be a great option. You may be able to get an updated RV with more features by downsizing to something that meets your current needs. And with gas prices remaining high, a smaller RV can mean better fuel efficiency too.
3. Your current RV is costing you more in repairs
Change is hard and if you have an RV that you love and have created memories in, it can be hard to think about buying a new one. But sometimes change is necessary. If you spend a lot of time and money repairing your current RV, it’s time to take inventory. Add up the amount of money you spend on repairs. Then, list out how much time you’ve missed in traveling due to maintenance issues. When you look at the totals, you may see your current RV is costing you more than a new one.
4. The current floorplan doesn’t fit your lifestyle
There are many different floorplan options now in RVs, so it’s possible a new RV may be a better fit. For example, if you travel a lot with your family, getting an RV with a bunkhouse like the Jayco Eagle HT may make the experience better for everyone. Or maybe you work remotely and need a better table or office set up to be more efficient. It may be that as your family grows you realize having two bathrooms would be worth buying a new RV. Think about how the current floorplan is working for you and what changes you would like to have.
5. Your RV doesn’t go where you want to go
Do you dream of boondocking and getting off the beaten path but your RV isn’t up for the trip? Then, it’s time to buy a new RV. There are great options on the market to meet your off-roading needs. For example, the Winnebago Boldt comes with a 4×4 option with floorplans that can still sleep 2 or 3 people while also including a wet bath. You can have everything you need to enjoy comfort indoors at night while enjoying adventures in the great outdoors during the day.
If you enjoy boondocking, city camping, or want to have more off-road adventures, it may be time for an upgrade.
6. You don’t enjoy taking your current RV on the road
Maybe it’s too big that you don’t enjoy driving it or it’s older than you are and you want something more updated, if you don’t enjoy your RV, it’s time for an upgrade. RVing is all about enjoying yourself, creating memories, and having an adventure. If your RV is sitting in storage because you don’t want to make the effort to take it out, it’s time to upgrade and have some fun!
