Finding the perfect RV for you isn’t as simple as browsing through images to see what looks good. It’s important to understand what type of RVer you are. This means getting in touch with what you’re looking to do with your RV, how often you want to travel, and what your needs are in the RV itself. There are 7 different types of RVer profiles. We’ve been breaking down each one to help you find where you fit.
A recent study of RV ownership came up with these 7 categories:
- Casual Campers
- Family Campers
- Escapists
- Avid RVers
- Happy Campers
- Full Timers
- Adventure Seekers
Today we’re talking all about Happy Campers!
Are you a Happy Camper?
While Happy Campers only make up 3% of RVers, they are well-known by everyone. Happy Campers tend to be snowbirds who live for part of the year in their RV. You see them for half the year and then they are gone for the other part of the year. Many RVers in this group are using their RV to get away from winter weather while others simply enjoy splitting their time between two locations.
The majority of Happy Campers are over the age of 55 and have no children living at home. Almost half of the group is retired, however, this is a number we could see dropping with so many people working remotely now.
This group uses their RV an average of 180 each year and spend 75% of their vacation time RVing. It’s something they enjoy doing, thus the name “Happy Camper.”
What Happy Campers need in an RV
Of course, the details about this will vary slightly based on the individuals themselves. However, if you’re spending half the year living in your RV, you’re likely going to want it to have many of the comforts and convenience of a home.
