Here are 5 tips to make an RV feel like home. While there isn’t the space to customize an RV home with large plants or paintings, there are quite a few things to quickly give RVs a welcoming feeling.
Pillows and Throw Blankets
Small, bright throw pillows can really liven up a space and can double as back support when driving or extra cushioning for guests. Throw blankets are also great for adding brightness and keeping warm by a campfire. Pro-Tip: Buy machine washable pillows and blankets for less stress.
Plants
Small potted plants like succulents, cacti, and kitchen herbs do well with moderate to minimal sunshine and watering. This works especially well if you have a roomier Class A Motorhome or 5th Wheel with a little more room and lots of windows. If you’ll only be in your RV a few times a year, get some faux-plants to leave inside. Pro-Tip: Sinks are a great place to store plants while the RV is moving down the road.
Small picture frames
Small picture frames are great for pictures of loved ones, landscapes, beautiful sunsets and so on. They are perfect for expressing personality in an RV home. They can fit many places: bathroom counters, bedside tables, and the tiny built-in bookshelves. Pro-Tip: Use easy to remove double sided tape to hang picture frames on the wall.
Candles
Candles really make an RV feel like home with their warm glow. Great news, battery operated candles are all the rage now! These are perfect for making an RV feel like home without the fire hazard. Additionally, they don’t drain house batteries when camping without hookups. Pro-tip: If you want the added scents of candles, oil diffusers are a great nonflammable option.
Outdoor camping decorations
Outdoor rugs, camping chairs, and string lights can add a lot of personality to a campsite and make you feel very welcome when you drive up to your RV. Pro-tip: Choose fold flat chairs and rugs for easy stowing while driving.
