22' Airstream Sport Customer Review
Sky River RVKen and Angel and Eric and Janna and Stanβ¦OK everybody,
Here are a couple of pictures from the maiden voyage in our new 22 foot Airstream Sport. We canβt tell you how happy we are moving up to the larger Sport. (Ken, I know you told us this would happen when we bought the 16 footer.) The silver of the Airstream coupled with the black of the Durango makes a great looking rig. But more importantly they work well together. The Durango just got a positive review in Airstream magazine for its use as a towing vehicle.
Anyway, it was a two night shake-down cruise to Jalama Beach a couple of hours away near Lompoc. The winding last 14 miles put everything to the test. Driving and handling wise I can't really say it's any different from pulling the 16 foot Bambi Sport, though it's 6 feet longer and 1000 pounds heavier and a few inches narrower. However I felt like a complete novice trying to back it in to our tiny spot. The 6 feet difference does make a difference when backing. I finally got it because I was determined not to let my wife show that she can back up better than I can.
We love the additional space and our two little dogs do too. Long story short; everything worked great and we had a wonderful time. We can't wait to take a longer trip. In fact we're leaving tomorrow for a weeklong trip up around Napa County.
I'd be happy to send some pictures from the inside as well sometime we are personalizing it a little bit as we go.
